Death is the creative phase of life - La morte è la fase creativa della vita

Death according to the concept of naturalistic cyclicity of life is nothing other than a renewal of forms in other forms. A transformation that does not harm life in itself. Indeed life is nothing but the chasing of the life-death process. Our ancestors, as indeed all animals, recognized this cyclicity therefore were not particularly attached to the form, to the sense of self. They were able to enjoy existence, with all its beauties and ugliness, as if it were a wonderful adventure. At the end of which, without regrets, they were able to let themselves go to the last restful sleep knowing that when they awoke they would find a new shape. For this they were able to face dangers and difficulties, struggles and risks, explorations and new discoveries, with a light heart. Perhaps with fear, perhaps with doubts about what to do, but without giving up on their journey. The man who was traveling with death at his side was a hero.

Then religions took over which, despite a series of obvious doctrinal differences, share a fundamental principle: human beings in their soul, the ego or ego, are immortal. From the earliest forms of "spiritual" expression, this was the great promise and hope offered by the great religions to their respective faithful. Not that this "eternity" was a gift without compensation, it was necessary to earn it, and above all it was necessary to "believe" in the religious dictate, otherwise yes the soul is immortal but it can run the risk of being lost forever in the underworld. Which of course is infinitely worse than turning into other vital aspects, as naturalism teaches.

Unfortunately over the centuries and millennia the company of death has been denied, to the point that today we are even willing to "spiritual commerce" to secure a guaranteed future. Not that spiritual commerce is a novelty of this era, in fact this trade began the very moment in which man invented an "afterlife", or a hypothetical world of spirit opposed to the earthly world.

This occurred above all with the advent of monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. But in truth it was already present - in fieri - at the very moment in which the process of virtualization of thought began, with the birth of philosophy, which arose together with patriarchy and the accumulation of material goods (ie the concept of property) .

But if we want to look for evidence of the birth and parallelism between the material world, the world of nature, and the creation of a virtual world, of the beyond, we discover that it appears in human societies with the cult of the ancestors. The ancestors are considered alive in the afterlife and this is why continuous ceremonies are required for their "spiritual" nourishment and even in China the "paper money" was invented - which was burnt together with incense, to transmit to the deceased those titles in subtle form, as it was assumed that turnout in the afterlife derived from such offerings.

But not only this, in medieval Europe - for example - they had reached the sale of indulgences, in which they paid - not with fictitious paper money but in gold - to the church a conquibus that was then transferred (according to the priests) to souls of the deceased or of the same donor who thus ensured himself paradise. The "spiritual trade", based on the fear of death, knows no boundaries, manifests itself in a thousand ways, with the sale of rosaries, sacred books, little pictures, relics .... in front of shrines and cathedrals (and also within them), this sale is accepted as a corollary of religion (and without taxes). There are also devotional donations for missions, for the poor (of the same connected religious species) and for good works (IOR type and the like).

The religions of the afterlife are a really good deal ... If there is a need for cheap labor, fighters ready for anything, here are devised the holy wars and the honorable martyrdom, which guarantees a beautiful afterlife, full of flutes, rainbows, virgins and complacent angels.

After all, it is better to work and save for the afterlife, since this world is going to hell and everyone is convinced that we have to screw death. The only hope is to believe in another world, and on this axiom the sects and religions proliferate and grow fat ... here on earth, they put on weight here in our society ... not there ... in the skies where only empty space exists.

But at the same time as this mass of illusions, religious disillusionment was also born, in many materialistic or hedonistic environments we tend to pure egoism, with the consequence that on earth we can enjoy without restraint of resources without taking into account the sacredness of nature and ignoring that the life goes on with our successors...

Both religion and materialism consider the maintaining liveability on earth ... basically we are all passing through here .. we might as well earn goods for the future in another fantasy land and neglect this earthly land, or enjoy here as long as we can without respect for future generations. This planet can go to waste, we can do the worst atrocities: destroy it, exploit it to an incredible extent, pollute it and offend it with all its inhabitants (trees, plants, animals) that are at the mercy of the need for profit, accumulation and expenditure ...

In truth we should assimilate the cult of successors in our society and let the one of the ancestors disappear ...

Fortunately, from time to time a human being appears who is able to affirm that "the pure Promised Land is here on this earth". For example, Tich Nhath Hanh said: "If you manage to leave peace and anxiety free on this land of ours, you will no longer need to think about entering the" kingdom of heaven ". The reason is simple, samsara (ocean of existence) and the kingdom of heaven are both inventions of the mind. If you are at peace, free from presuppositions and full of joy of living, you will have transformed samsara into  Pure Earth and there will be no need to think of an afterlife..."

La morte secondo il concetto  della ciclicità naturalistica non è altro che un rinnovarsi delle forme  in altre forme. Una trasformazione che non danneggia in sé la vita. Anzi la vita non è altro che il  rincorrersi del processo vita-morte. I nostri progenitori, come d'altronde tutti gli animali, riconoscevano questa ciclicità, quindi non erano particolarmente attaccati alla forma, al senso dell'io. Essi erano in grado di godere l'esistenza, con tutte le sue bellezze e le sue bruttezze, come fosse una meravigliosa avventura. Al termine  della quale, senza rimpianti, erano in grado di lasciarsi andare all'ultimo  sonno ristoratore consapevoli che al risveglio avrebbero trovato una nuova forma. Per questo erano in grado di affrontare pericoli e difficoltà, lotte e rischi, esplorazioni e nuove scoperte,  a cuor leggero. Forse con timore, forse con dubbi sul da farsi, ma senza demordere nel loro percorso. L'uomo che viaggiava con la morte al fianco era un eroe.  

Poi subentrarono le religioni le quali, malgrado una serie di evidenti differenze dottrinali, condividono un principio fondamentale: gli esseri umani nella loro anima, l'io o ego,  sono immortali.  Fin dalle prime forme di espressione "spirituale", fu questa la grande promessa e speranza offerta dalle grandi religioni ai rispettivi fedeli. Non che questa "eternità" fosse un regalo senza contropartita, bisognava guadagnarselo, e soprattutto bisognava "credere" nel dettame religioso, altrimenti sì l'anima è immortale ma può correre il rischio di perdersi per sempre negli inferi. Il che ovviamente è infinitamente peggio che trasformarsi in altri aspetti  vitali, come  insegna il naturalismo.

Purtroppo nel corso dei secoli e dei millenni la compagnia della morte è stata rinnegata, sino al punto che oggi siamo persino disposti al "commercio spirituale" per accaparrarci un futuro garantito. Non che il commercio spirituale sia una novità di questa epoca, in effetti tale commercio è iniziato il momento stesso  in cui l’uomo si è inventato un “aldilà”, ovvero un ipotetico mondo dello spirito contrapposto al mondo terreno. 

Ciò è avvenuto soprattutto con l’avvento delle religioni monotesiste: Giudaismo, Cristianesimo e Islamismo. Ma in verità era già presente –in fieri- nel momento stesso in cui è iniziato il processo di virtualizzazione del pensiero, con la nascita della filosofia, che è sorta unitamente al patriarcato ed all’accumulo di beni materiali (cioè il concetto di proprietà).

Ma se vogliamo cercare un'evidenza della nascita e del parallallelismo fra mondo materiale, dell’aldiqua, e della creazione di un mondo virtuale, dell’aldilà, scopriamo che appare nelle società umane con il culto degli antenati. Gli antenati vengono considerati vivi nell’aldilà ed è per questo che sono richieste continue cerimonie per il loro nutrimento “spirituale” e addirittura in Cina fu inventata la “cartamoneta” -che veniva bruciata assieme all’incenso, per trasmettere ai defunti quei titoli in forma sottile, in quanto si presupponeva che l’affluenza nell’oltretomba derivasse da tali offerte.

Ma non solo questo, nell’Europa medioevale -ad esempio- si era giunti alla vendita delle indulgenze, in cui si pagava –non con cartamoneta fittizia ma in oro sonante- alla chiesa un conquibus che poi veniva trasferito (a detta dei preti) alle anime dei defunti o dello stesso donatore che si assicurava così il paradiso. Il "commercio spirituale”, basato sulla paura della morte,  non conosce confini, si manifesta in mille modi, con la vendita di rosari, libri sacri, immaginette, reliquie…. davanti ai santuari ed alle cattedrali (ed anche al loro interno), tale compravendita è accettata come un corollario della religione (e senza tasse). Ci sono pure le donazioni devozionali per le missioni, per i poveri (della stessa specie religiosa connessa) e per le opere di bene (tipo IOR ed affini).

Le religioni dell’aldilà sono proprio un bell’affare… Se c’è bisogno di manodopera a buon mercato, di combattenti pronti a tutto, ecco che si escogitano le guerre sante e l’onorevole martirio, che garantisce un aldilà bellissimo, pieno di flauti, di arcobaleni, di vergini ed angeli compiacenti.

In fondo meglio lavorare e risparmiare per l’aldilà, visto che ormai questo mondo sta andando a rotoli e tutti sono convinti che occorre fregare la morte. L’unica speranza è credere in un altro mondo, e su questo assioma le sette e le religioni prolificano e si ingrassano…. qui sulla terra, ingrassano qui nella nostra società… mica là… nei cieli dove esiste solo spazio vuoto. 

Ma contemporaneamente a questa messe di illusioni  è nata anche la disillusione religiosa, in molti ambienti  materialisti o edonisti si tende all’egoismo puro, con la conseguenza che sulla terra si gode senza ritegno delle risorse senza tener conto della sacralità della natura ed ignorando che la vita continua con i nostri successori… 

Sia la religione che il materialismo considerano inutile il mantenimento della vivibilità sulla terra… in fondo qui siamo tutti di passaggio.. tanto vale guadagnare beni per il futuro in una altra terra fantasistica e trascurare questa terra terrestre, oppure godere qui sin che si può senza rispetto per le generazioni future. Questo pianeta può andare a remengo, ci si possono compiere le peggio nefandezze: distruggerlo, sfruttarlo all’inverosimile, inquinarlo e offenderlo con tutti i suoi abitanti (alberi, piante, animali) che sono alla mercé delle necessità di guadagno, accumulo e spesa… 

In verità noi dovremmo assimilare nella nostra società il culto dei successori e lasciar perdere quello degli antenati….. 

Per fortuna  di tanto in tanto appare un essere umano che è in grado di affermare che “la pura Terra Promessa è qui su questa terra”. Diceva ad esempio Tich Nhath Hanh: “Se riuscirete a lasciare passi di pace e liberi da ansia su questa nostra terra, non avrete più bisogno di pensare di entrare nel “regno dei cieli”. Il motivo è semplice, il samsara ed il regno dei cieli sono entrambi invenzioni della mente. Se siete in pace, liberi da presupposti e pieni di gioia di vivere avrete trasformato il samsara in Pura Terra e non ci sarà più bisogno di pensare ad un aldilà….”
