"There is nothing hidden that does not become manifest and concealed that will not be revealed".
It seems that in this ancient maxim with a religious flavor there is almost a repetition between what is hidden and becomes manifest and what is concealed and will be revealed, but this is not the case.
There are subtleties that, in order to transmit their message, require clarifications and repeated propositions. Repetition in trying to transmit something that makes no sense except for intuition is a necessary expedient.
In Taoism, concepts are often repeated, slightly modifying their meanings in order to strike the listener more intimately and plant a seed in his heart.
The difference between schools of thought based on ethics, and Taoism is that living consciously in the Tao is much more than simply living morally. Ethics and morality limit and bind.
Morality is not creative and is exhausted in the attempt to contain itself within its own limits, trying to respect its rules.
Morality remains limited to the concepts of good and evil, just and unjust, virtuous and vicious and cannot go beyond, because if it goes beyond it is no longer itself. Morality walks side by side with reason and the sense of judgment.
Life in the Tao, on the contrary, is not tied to any criterion of gender, it is free like a bird that flies, a fish that swims or a flower that blooms. It spontaneously remains whole in itself, therefore it is an always autonomous life.
The Tao does not judge, it takes things as they are. The wise Taoist knows to recognize in every morning a good morning, no matter how stormy.
Flowing in the Tao makes us free and creative. This, however, is not entirely correct because the Tao discriminates, it does not ignore the senses nor even the intellect. What is beautiful is beautiful, what is good is good, and what is true is true.
The Taoist sage is able to see things commonly as they present themselves, with something more: the understanding that everything moves in its own direction.

"Non vi è nulla di celato che non divenga manifesto e di nascosto che non sarà svelato". Sembra che in questa massima antica dal sapore religioso vi sia quasi una ripetizione fra ciò che è celato e diviene manifesto e ciò che è nascosto e sarà svelato, ma non è così. Ci sono delle sottigliezze che per trasmettere il loro messaggio abbisognano di precisazioni e di proposizioni ripetute.
La ripetizione nel tentare di trasmettere un qualcosa che non ha senso se non per l'intuito è un espediente necessario. Nel taoismo spesso i concetti vengono ripetuti modificando appena i loro significati in modo da colpire più intimamente l'ascoltatore ed immettere un seme nel suo cuore.
La differenza fra le scuole di pensiero basate sull'etica, e il Taoismo è che il vivere consapevole nel Tao è ben più di un vivere semplicemente morale. L'etica e la morale limitano e vincolano.
La morale non è creativa e si esaurisce nel tentativo di contenersi nei suoi stessi limiti, tentando di rispettare le sue regole.
La morale resta circoscritta ai concetti di bene e male, giusto ed ingiusto, virtuoso e vizioso e non può andare oltre, poiché se va oltre non è più se stessa. La morale cammina fianco a fianco con la ragione ed il senso del giudizio.
La vita nel Tao, al contrario, non è legata ad alcun criterio di genere è libera come un uccello che vola, un pesce che nuota od un fiore che sboccia. Essa spontaneamente resta integra in se stessa, perciò è una vita sempre autonoma.
Il Tao non giudica, prende le cose come sono. Il saggio taoista sa riconoscere in ogni mattino un buon mattino, non importa quanto tempestoso.
Il fluire nel Tao ci rende liberi e creativi Questo però non è deltutto esatto perché il Tao discrimina, non ignora i sensi e neppure l'intelletto. Ciò che è bello è bello, ciò che è buono è buono e ciò che è vero è vero.
Il saggio taoista è capace di vedere le cose comunemente come esse si presentano, con un qualcosa in più: la comprensione che tutto si muove nella sua propria direzione.
