Bioregional implementation in practice... - Attuazione bioregionale in pratica...

We bioregionalists and deep ecologists are all working, albeit in a disjointed and differentiated way, on a change in society. In general, as I understand from the situations I find myself in, it seems very difficult to find synergies of purpose and disinterested collaboration. This is due to the fact that each of us has formed a particular idea of what the priorities must be to implement this "change".

I believe that, to continue with common action, it is necessary to renounce any form of hierarchical and structured aggregation by operating in terms of small arable network actions, hoping that over time and with the maturation of collective consciousness the conditions suitable for a “directed” but spontaneous.

The important thing is not to give up and continue with disinterested action to the extent possible, allowing the conditions for an elective collaboration to be created in every situation, in the awareness of the common goal, and at the same time knowing that every "association" lasts for a long time. limited completion of the action in progress.

But from this reflection I would like to draw some considerations on some aspects of the society in which we live: "only a weak personality needs simulacra with which to identify", and this is precisely what happens in those who, hopefully, reflect themselves only in the ideal specific and limited that they love! This attitude is often passively and uncritically imitative, and can take root in men of weak spirit, with a strong vocation for external identification, who want to realize their own plan.

And the common interest?

From the point of view of synthesis it should be found in adherence to the concept of "common good". In this regard, Goethe's thought from God and the World comes to mind: "To orient yourself in the Infinite / you must distinguish and then unite".

It is true that the mind of the capable man, in such times, longs to escape solitude and produce positive results. But it is also important to have the inner greatness that allows us to tolerate even imperfect people. If one attempted to oppose evil with the usual means the resulting collapse would be disastrous with consequent humiliation.

To better clarify the situation of this "historical moment" (which does not only belong to the season but also to the moral maturation of man), I report here, once again, a teaching of the sage Ramana Maharshi relating to social harmony.

“A society is the organism; its constituent members are the limbs that perform its functions. A member thrives when he is loyal in service to society as a well-coordinated organ functions in the organism. While faithfully serving the community, in thought, word and deed, a member of the community should promote his cause to other members of the community, making them aware and inducing them to be faithful to the society, as a form of progress for the latter.

Noi bioregionalisti ed ecologisti profondi stiamo tutti lavorando, sia pure in modo disgiunto e differenziato, ad un cambiamento della società. In generale, per come capisco dalle situazioni in cui mi vengo a trovare  sembra molto difficile poter trovare sinergie d’intenti e collaborazione disinteressata. Ciò è dovuto al fatto che ognuno di noi si è fatto un’idea particolare di quelle che debbono essere le priorità per attuare questo “cambiamento”.

Credo che, per proseguire nell’azione comune, occorra rinunciare a qualsiasi forma di aggregazione gerarchica e strutturata operando in termini di piccole azioni di rete seminativa, sperando che nel tempo e con la maturazione della coscienza collettiva possano manifestarsi le condizioni adatte ad un cambiamento non “indirizzato” ma spontaneo.

L’importante è non demordere e proseguire nell’azione disinteressata nei limiti del possibile, lasciando che in ogni situazione si creino i presupposti per una collaborazione elettiva, nella consapevolezza del fine comune, ed allo stesso tempo sapendo che ogni “associazione” dura il tempo limitato del compimento dell’azione in corso.

Ma da questa  riflessione desidero trarre alcune considerazioni su alcuni aspetti della  società  in cui viviamo: “solo una personalità debole ha bisogno di simulacri in cui identificarsi”, e questo è proprio ciò che avviene in quelli che, speranzosi, si rispecchiano solo nell’ideale specifico e limitato  che essi  amano! Tale atteggiamento, spesso, è passivamente e acriticamente imitativo, e può attecchire in uomini di spirito debole, con vocazione forte all’identificazione esteriore, che vogliono realizzare un proprio disegno.

E l’interesse comune?

Dal punto di vista della sintesi dovrebbe trovarsi nell’adesione al concetto di “bene comune”. A questo proposito mi sovviene il pensiero di Goethe da Dio e Mondo: “Per orientarsi nell’Infinito / distinguer devi e poscia unire”.

E’ vero che la mente dell’uomo capace, in tempi simili, anela ad uscire dalla solitudine ed a produrre risultati positivi. Ma è altresì importante avere la grandezza interiore che consente di sopportare anche le persone imperfette. Se si tentasse di opporsi al male con i mezzi abituali il crollo che ne risulterebbe sarebbe rovinoso con conseguente umiliazione.

Per meglio chiarire la situazione di questo “momento storico” (che non appartiene solo alla stagione ma anche alla maturazione morale dell’uomo), riporto qui, ancora una volta, un insegnamento del saggio Ramana Maharshi relativo all’armonia sociale. “Una società è l’organismo; i suoi membri costituenti sono gli arti che svolgono le sue funzioni. Un membro prospera quando è leale nel servizio alla società come un organo ben coordinato funziona nell’organismo. Mentre sta fedelmente servendo la comunità, in pensieri, parole ed opere, un membro di essa dovrebbe promuoverne la causa presso gli altri membri della comunità, rendendoli coscienti  ed  inducendoli ad essere fedeli alla società, come forma di progresso per quest’ultima.”.
