"Non serve la conoscenza o l’esperienza per capire noi stessi. Conoscenza ed esperienza non fanno altro che espandere la memoria. La comprensione di noi stessi avviene di momento in momento; accumulare conoscenza su noi stessi ci impedirà di capire quello che siamo, perché questo accumulo diventa il centro che alimenta e dà consistenza al pensiero."

"La verità sopraggiunge come un lampo. La verità è comprensione e sopraggiunge come un lampo; non ha continuità, non appartiene al tempo. Vedetelo con i vostri occhi. La comprensione è fresca, istantanea, non è la continuazione di qualcosa che è stato. Quello che è stato non vi aiuta a capire. Finché cercate la continuità, la permanenza nelle vostre relazioni, nell’amore, in una pace che vorreste durasse per sempre, non vi allontanate dal campo del tempo, perché queste cose non appartengono all’eterno."

"Virtù non è qualcosa che vada coltivata, se è figlia de pensiero, della volontà, se è risultato di repressione, allora non è più virtù. Ma se voi capite il disordine che è nella vostra vita, la confusione, la totale mancanza di senso della vostra esistenza, quando vedete questo con grande chiarezza, non soltanto intellettualmente o a parole, non condannando, non fuggendo, ma osservando questo disordine della vita, allora dalla consapevolezza e dall'osservazione nasce l'ordine, naturalmente, ed è virtù. E' una virtù del tutto diversa da quella della società, rispettabile e sancita dalle religioni con la loro ipocrisia; ed è completamente diversa dalla disciplina auto-imposta."

"Non pensare in un dato modo semplicemente perché la gente pensa così, o perché si tratta di una credenza secolare, o perché così è scritto in qualche libro ritenuto sacro; pensa da te stesso e giudica se la cosa è ragionevole."

"Quando cercate un'autorità che vi conduca alla spiritualità, siete automaticamente costretti a costruirvi intorno un'organizzazione. E creando quell'organizzazione, che pensate vi possa aiutare spiritualmente, vi rinchiudete in una gabbia. Voi pensate che solo certe persone abbiano la chiave del regno della felicità. Nessuno ce l'ha, nessuno ha l'autorità di tenere quella chiave. Quella chiave siete voi stessi e soltanto nell'evoluzione, nella purificazione e nell'incorruttibilità di quel sé, c'è il regno dell’eternità. E per quelli che sono deboli, non ci può essere nessuna organizzazione che li aiuti a trovare la verità, perché la verità è in ciascuno di noi; non è lontana, non è vicina, è eternamente qui. Coloro che realmente desiderano comprendere, che vogliono trovare ciò che è eterno, senza principio né fine, cammineranno insieme con maggior intensità e saranno un pericolo per tutto ciò che non è essenziale, che non è reale, per ciò che è in ombra. E queste persone si concentreranno, diventeranno la fiamma, perché esse comprendono."

"You don't need knowledge or experience to understand yourself. Knowledge and experience do nothing but expand your memory. Understanding yourself happens from moment to moment; accumulating knowledge about yourself will prevent you from understanding who you are, why this accumulation becomes the center that feeds and gives consistency to thought."

"Truth comes like a flash. Truth is understanding and it comes like a flash; it has no continuity, it does not belong to time. See it with your own eyes. Understanding is fresh, instantaneous, it is not the continuation of something that has been. What has been does not help you understand. As long as you seek continuity, permanence in your relationships, in love, in a peace that you would like to last forever, do not move away from the field of time, because these things do not belong to the eternal ."

"Virtue is not something that should be cultivated, if it is the daughter of thought, of the will, if it is the result of repression, then it is no longer a virtue. But if you understand the disorder that is in your life, the confusion, the total lack of meaning of your existence, when you see this very clearly, not just intellectually or verbally, not condemning, not fleeing, but observing this disorder of life, then from awareness and observation comes order, of course, and it is virtue. a virtue altogether different from that of society, respectable and sanctioned by religions with their hypocrisy; and it is altogether different from self-imposed discipline."

"Do not think one way simply because people think so, or because it is an age-old belief, or because it is written so in some book held sacred; think for yourself and judge whether it is reasonable."

"When you look for an authority to lead you to spirituality, you are automatically forced to build an organization around yourself. And by creating that organization, which you think will help you spiritually, you lock yourself in a cage. You think that only certain people hold the key of the realm of happiness. No one has it, no one has the authority to hold that key. That key is yourself and only in the evolution, purification and incorruptibility of that self, is there the realm of eternity And for those who are weak, there can be no organization to help them find the truth, because the truth is within each of us; it is not far away, it is not near, it is eternally here. Those who really wish to understand, that they want to find that which is eternal, without beginning or end, they will walk together with greater intensity and will be a danger to all that is not essential, that is not real, to that which is in shadow.And these people will focus year, they will become the flame, for they understand."
