Wu Wei. Ichinen and spontaneity - Wu Wei. Ichinen e spontaneità

We all act spontaneously, always, everyone puts into practice what he feels. There is an aura that proves it, there is a smell that announces it. You cannot behave differently than your thoughts indicate. How and where do your thoughts arise? Who chooses them? Who decides one course of action rather than another? Maybe the desire? Perhaps the will to reach an end? And where do you reach anything if not in the world of appearances, in the dream of existence?

Hence the theory of karma which places man inside a wheel. The same wheel we see in hamster cages. It moves because the hamster inside makes it move. In itself the wheel is inert. Therefore, both in Taoism and in Advaita it proclaims "not acting", in the sense of not carrying out actions with the aim of an achievement.

But, in all sincerity with yourself, take action, don't shy away from action out of fear. Krishna himself said to Arjuna: "If you shy away from acting, your very nature will push you to do the actions that are due to you." Therefore act according to your "Dharma / Karma" and leave the results to "Heaven" ...

And now a deepening: The Taoist "emptiness" - ... If the true Tao appears to our determinist perception as a nothing, which for us corresponds to the emptiness of the self (of the individual conscience), in truth it marks the blissful return to the matrix silent, which attracts and projects the experience of empirical thought and then reabsorbs it into the nothingness from which it comes. This kenosis of the Tao proceeds by its own nature and does not presuppose any creative or destructive will. And from here we understand the Taoist indifference to a personal God.

The manifesto is only an appearance, a propensity appears in the mind because that is the nature of the mind. Accept it and move on. Live moment by moment observing everything that happens. Gradually you will realize that you will not perform the actions by making an effort or in reaction to those of others, but they will be spontaneous responses, without seeking a definite "outcome".

According to the Taoist psychologist Alessandro Mahony for the Taoists there is therefore not so much a cause and effect but rather a synchronicity: "Not what it is, but what does it mean for me now".

“All our reasoning is based on the law of cause and effect, which operates as a succession. Something happens now, because something else happened then. Chinese sages do not think so much according to this horizontal line, which goes from the past to the future, through the present, they think vertically, from what is in one place now to what is in another place now. In other words, they do not ask why, or for what past causes, a certain order of what is happening now; they ask: What is the significance of the things happening together right now? The word Tao is the answer to this question ». (Alan Watts, The Meaning of Happiness [109])

So a Taoist reasons according to a concept that could be called synchronicity.

And again: «when a Westerner feels he is thinking, he believes that such a fact is due to a kind of fatalism or determinism. [...] The first illusion is to believe that what is happening is happening to him and that he is therefore a victim of circumstances. But if we are immersed in original ignorance there is no you other than the thing that is happening. So it's not happening to us, it just happens. [...] The second illusion is to believe that what is happening now is the consequence of an event from the past. [...] We have to be really naïve to believe that the past causes what happens today. The past is similar to the trail left by a ship. Eventually every trace disappears. [...] It is a simple motion: everything begins now, therefore it is spontaneous: it is not determined [...], it is not even accidental [...]. The Tao is a certain type of order [...] which however is not precisely what we call order when we arrange an object in a geometric order, in boxes or in rows. If we look at a bamboo plant it is perfectly clear that the plant has its own order. [...] The Chinese call him Li [...]. Everyone tries to express the essence of Li. But the interesting thing is that although we know what it is, there is no way to define it ». (Alan Watts, The meaning of happiness [111] p. 17-18).

Is it difficult to reconcile the two concepts or not?

In truth Alan Watts is a great admirer of the Tao and has managed very well to identify its salient points, he stated: "every form of control ultimately falls on the controller". In fact, in the Taoist tradition "Man conforms to the Earth, the Earth conforms to Heaven, Heaven conforms to the Tao, the Tao conforms to spontaneity". Spontaneity is synonymous with naturalness, a subversive category in the artificial world of social contractualism and the techno-scientific domain.

So what is the significance of performing "virtuous" actions with the intent of achieving? It obviously doesn't make sense to a Taoist. But it makes sense to "credit" a hypothetical personal "will" ("Ichinen" is called in Japanese). However, the thought takes a form, whenever desired, with more or less force according to the intensity. But this process in Taoism - as in Advaita - is considered a form of "illusion", of immersion in the "dream" of becoming (Samsara).

The fact remains that the dream exists, as long as you sleep, and even if it is not "true" it is still "real" for the time it lasts ... until the moment of Awakening arrives.

Paolo D'Arpini

Testo italiano:

Chi li sceglie?

[...] 17-18).

E' difficile conciliare i due concetti o no?

Lay spirituality and the Centre of existence - La spiritualità laica ed il Centro dell'esistenza

The spiritual lay master is one who shows the way, who says “look inside yourself.”

Within us is the truth, which is also embodied and revealed by the true teacher, this truth can not be “transmitted” but must be recognised internally, where the true teacher resides. The truth is not an object of knowledge but the knowing itself. The knowledge that makes possible all knowledge .. That consciousness is our true nature and is the intrinsic nature of the teacher who showed it to us.

The same thing happens in the physical DNA. The son is the outgrowth of what are the father and mother. There may be variations in genetic mixing, but the substance of life, the ability to manifest life, is the same in the child as in the parents. All life’s forms fully embodies the ability of life to manifest itself in that likeness. And it is right and proper that the relationship between parents and children takes place according to a pattern of continuity and mutual solidarity.

From the physical point of view, the roots are always in the father and mother … that represent the union of the spiritual fluids of Heaven and Earth that we inherited and that are within us. For this reason, even when the “parents” are no longer we can not really say that they died, because they exist in us as the message of their “spirit”, as intelligence and consciousness.

Ramana Maharshi claimed to have no disciple … and this statement is certainly correct in terms of a true teacher, who has overcomed the separate sense of individuality. In fact, for the wise there is nothing but a “center” (or Self) of which each and every thing is the manifest form and this “centre” is present in everything that moves in space and time. But from an empirical standpoint even Ramana accepted that a “person”(an entity that is still identified with the name-form) could look on him as a disciple …. So is the disciple who is making the guru.

The same thing said my spiritual mother Anasuya Devi when -playing with words- candidly confessed “I have not shisya (disciples) … I just have shisu (children)” and with these words confirmed his mother’s love for everything and everyone. And in truth the same thing happened to Ramana who considered sympathetically every creature as would a father with his children.

Of course, if an untrue teacher think that he himself is imparting the truth to the students this would implie that he believes in a scale of values in a hierarchy, that is the result of a sense of separation. But as happens in dreams, as though all the characters dreamed are the dreamer, there are apparent differences in rank and position among the various “entities”, it may look sometimes that one of them acts as a teacher to another (although they are exactly the same thing …).

In the dream we accept these differences and also in the waking state (which is another form of daydreaming) we agree to perform a role, between peers. In this regard I am reminded of a tale told by my spiritual father, Swami Muktananda. In a club of rich people could be allowed only the rich, and members of the same place took on the various internal departments, who as director, who as a waiter or brush, some as janitor or secretary office. All of them were of course millionaires and not ashamed to do each his part for the maintenance of the club. This state of affairs could also be represented in our society, if it were truly enlightened, as the acceptance of differences would be seen a play and nothing else.

Our life is not separate from life. Our individual existence is part and parcel of the total Existence, which are inextricably linked, inseparable.

In Hinduism there is a beautiful image that depicts the Creator, Brahma, attached by an umbilical cord to Vishnu. Vishnu in this case represents the One from whom all things proceed. And we too are linked to the navel of the cosmos, as we are an expression of the wholeness of life, dependent on the source.

In a form of Zen meditation we concentrate on the navel, hara in Japanese, which is considered the meeting point of life energy, ki. In Tantra this point corresponds to the chakra where the fire burns eternal, Manipura (solar plexus). According to other schools based on the mutual connection with the infinite (of which we are the manifestation) this centre is indicated in other areas or chakras in the base of the spine, heart, or in the pineal gland on the top of the head (fontanelle).

No matter its supposed “location” -which is just a convenience. Say, how can be “located” the One that contains everything? What matters is that in each of us there is certainly a “center”, a root that nourishes our being.

We may not be aware of it but it “is” and is expressed in the form of Consciousness.

To feel away from this “center”, which is the bridge that unites our individual existence with the Universal, is to feel separate.
“Cast of this world, plunged in alienation” in the words of Sartre. A world hat is considered strange and rootless with existence. Hence a state of perpetual anxiety, we strive to satisfy our urges with desires and choices, but the result is only frustration, fear, uncertainty and struggle … and we knows only defeat! In fact, we may not rebel or dispose of the life when we ourselves are an emanation of it.

Therefore lay spirituality’s achievement is to “dwell” in ourselves. In letting go deep down to the roots of the I.

Testo Italiano

Bioregionalismo, ecologia profonda e spiritualità laica sono la trinità della nuova filosofia della natura - Bioregionalism, deep ecology and secular spirituality are the trinity of the new philosophy of nature

“L’attuazione bioregionale in chiave politica.
Paolo D’Arpini - Rete Bioregionale Italiana

Testo inglese:
Deep ecology analyzes the organism, its vital and geomorphological components, their correlations and organic functioning and bioregionalism recognizes the territorial areas (bioregions) in which these processes manifest themselves in the form of qualified territorial and cultural "organs". As a third component element there is "the observer", that is the Intelligence Consciousness that animates the cognitive process, which I defined as "secular spirituality". That is the ability and the stimulus for research and understanding of life that analyzes itself. And above all its implementation.
In my opinion it is not worth going back to the inventor of the term "bioregionalism" because, as indeed it is for ecology and spirituality, it is something that has always existed, as an expression of life, therefore in the different historical periods these processes have received different names: pantheism, genius loci, animism, etc. And in any case, these three descriptive modes are indivisible from each other, just as existence is indivisible. A great sage used to say: “We cannot be other than an integral part of the total manifestation and of the total functioning and in no way can we be separated from it” (Nisargadatta Maharaj).
And now some expressions in the wind:
"It is good practice, in the bioregional approach, first of all to try to know the area in which you live, delimiting it through the geomorphological study of the territory, flora and fauna. The bioregion is a homogeneous area defined by the interconnection of natural systems and the living beings who inhabit them. A bioregion is a set of relationships in which humans are called to live and act as part of the larger natural community that defines their life "
"The bioregional idea essentially consists in resuming one's role within the wider community of living beings and in acting as part and not apart of it, correcting the behaviors induced by the affirmation of a global economic and political system, which it has placed itself outside the laws of nature and is devastating, at the same time, nature itself and the human being "
"The limitation and separation in consciousness is not real, in the same way in which the sunlight is not compromised or impaired by the mirror, likewise pure awareness is intact and not divided by the imaginary work of the individual mind. Where are they internal and external to the supreme consciousness that both penetrates and surpasses them? In reality, the very idea of such a separation is unthinkable in the light source which is uniquely .. "
“… .The need to“ reduce and give explanations ”lies precisely in the detachment that the intelligent spirit has at the moment of conception a part of the whole contextualizes itself in a historical module. The single part ancestral knows that it belongs to the whole and therefore in the restricted conditions of space time tends continuously (ascesis) to rejoin the infinite intelligent spirit of which it belongs and to which it inevitably tends .. "
“What would life be like without memory?… I asked myself this question by observing some people with Altzeimer patients. These beings, who have also lived an intense life, of work, of relationships, of affections, today due to some strange mechanism, have "left" the reality with which they no longer share anything…. Who were they before?… Where and how did they live? ... they belonged to a culture, to a territory, they had a character, habits, celebrated rites, respected traditions, spoke a language or more than one! ... all this is erased in their memory .... They no longer remember anything ... they are simply bodies still alive that live without relationships: they breathe, eat, observe what is around them ... ..but they are not connected to anything ... relationships originate identities .... "
"Bioregional implementation in a political key. Bioregionalism has two objectives: to recover and protect the natural environment as much as possible; redrawing new borders of the regions, finally taking into account their ethnic, environmental, linguistic, social and productive characteristics. All in a vision of the State that "instead of administering itself, through the sole protection of the bureaucracy, (among the most backward in the world), finally and seriously deals with the great national problems and the protection of citizens"
"... the image that we want to evoke with the word" bioregionalism "a neologism used by Peter Berg himself. Let's say that "bioregionalism" distinguishes a way of thinking that stems from the profound need to re-establish a sacred relationship with the earth. This relationship is achieved by starting from the desire to understand - by inhabiting it - the place where we live. In fact, a bioregion is not an enclosure whose boundaries are definitively established but a sort of magnetic field (aura - spiritus loci) distinguishable from neighboring fields only by the intensity of the characteristics that form its identity, in the same way as human beings, simultaneously different and similar to each other ... "
"By recognizing the existence of the different realities of our daily lives, we are able to grasp their richness and uniqueness, preserving their memory as a cultural heritage. In this way we can grasp the soul of the place where we live, where mind and body come together in a profound act of love and gratitude towards this land that has given us life, which contains the cosmic laws. Defending it implies all this, in full awareness that there is another very insidious reality, that of the loss of identities, the destruction of cultures with their uniform landscapes, close to deserts .. "
"The experience of gardens and urban agriculture, albeit with a few years of delay, is spreading very quickly in Italy as well. If there were a mapping, we would see thousands of dots drawn on the map of Italy: self-organized groups, educational gardens, gardens on the balcony, flower beds planted with lettuce, synergistic gardens. Between ring roads, overpasses, bridges, traffic lights, highways, here and there a vegetable garden appears in all its beauty "
“… We cannot do without biodiversity, that is the natural systems that support the survival of us all. We observe that desertification is advancing everywhere (not only drought but loss of humus following the run-off of surface land), deforestation, improper use of land for electricity production, the impoverishment of soils due to monocultures, the modification of environment and, in general, the dispersion of the biological heritage of animal and plant species, all aspects that result in a considerable economic loss also in the economy…. "
"The only" development "that allows the life of the biosphere is a completely non-material process, something that means the evolution of culture, art, spirituality"
"Ours is the work of those who love to observe winter ending and spring advancing, hear the woodpecker drumming, hear the sudden rustle of flocks of finches above their heads like an angel's wing. What economic calculation can we make of this work, which also brings back the feeling of being lapped by an angel's wing? I tried to give a small and concrete example of a way of working that takes care of the earth and other beings because I would like to ask a question. Is it conceivable a political administration - of any organizational level - that legislates around this slow way of working? "
"... I continue to devote myself, in theory and in practice, to this research, perhaps dealing with organic farming, bioregional nutrition, natural cures, spirituality and the art of nature .. I personally arrived, through lived experiences and considerations and reflections on events, to fully share deep ecological thinking, vegetarianism and  lay spirituality"
“The world is a large bioregional laboratory. Perhaps we do not need to resort to History which, with the interpretations of those who report, narrate, comment on human facts and behaviors, does not allow us to live or relive experiences that adhere to the reality of the times. Maybe we need to turn to that great laboratory that is the world today. In fact, at this moment we can enter history, we can look at all those populations present in the world today, which are representative of realities ranging from a state that does not differ much from the primordial one to one that represents the most advanced state of technology. . This game of nature allows us a direct observation of social, cultural and economic systems of aggregation, to interpret them and to try to understand what to do to overcome the old and new miseries and to be enthusiastic actors in the project of building a fair world. , supportive, happy, and therefore with a future "
“… For me profound ecology means: love for life, for nature, for living beings, human solidarity, each according to his own nature and possibilities: a tendency to…. as far as possible. Changes don't happen in a day, but each of us can play a part of him "

Autorealizzazione. - Self-realization. The way of Love and the way of Knowledge ...

English text:

The way of Love - said the great sage Ramana Maharshi - is as valid as that of Knowledge.

The imponderable help that comes from the Master is defined as "Grace" and exists ... it is the spiritual drive that allows souls to return to the "Father", who is the Self, ... "Grace is always present but the seeker is sometimes not ready to receive it, due - as mentioned - to the obscuring tendencies - then slowly due to the sufferings resulting from repeatedly committed errors (karma) the seeker's heart "opens" to the truth ... and to Grace and Love and Knowledge ... . the Master, the Father, the Grace, the Knowledge…. they are expressions of the same Truth, which the seeker ultimately realizes as his own intrinsic nature, forms of his own Self.

And also: ... it is true that we live in a world in which existence appears to be made up of countless beings, but in the final analysis we are all One. As far as spiritual growth and Self Realization are concerned, the masters help us, they show the way and provide - on the basis of our evolutionary needs and our karma - to remove the obstacles that stand in the way. But the work of the seeker is necessary, since the realization cannot be given to him but must come within itself. This work is an indispensable condition, even if from the final point of view of the absolute there is never a moment in which the Self is not present ... and Ramana himself, in other contexts, declared that "one day you will laugh at your selves. efforts to get what you already are ... "...

The pure mind, freed from the sense of the separate self, is the Self itself. There are no two selves. The Self being the only reality cannot be obtained with effort, it is always present, the spiritual work is aimed at the purification of the mind, until one realizes that a mind separated from the Self never existed ... It was only a reflection, a game in consciousness. Here I am not speaking of "conjectures" but of real experience ... which goes beyond any religious or worldly or psychological concept ...

But here a clarification is necessary. What is meant by Self? It is the Spirit that penetrates everything, in Advaita he defines himself Atman. Precise: when we talk about the Self we are already in a state of duality. As Lao Tzu says: the Tao that can be said is not the true Tao. From a conceptual point of view, therefore with a description within the dual mind, the Self represents the absolute awareness not aware of itself, that is the Absolute one without a second. The individual self (soul) is the reflection in the mind of that awareness. And here we ask what is the mind? It is that power of reflection that allows the Self to manifest itself in infinite forms (Maya or Shakti. - Time, space, energy). Since the reflection of the manifested images has the Self as its substratum, it can be said - as Shankaracharya said - that the world is unreal when seen as separate from the Self, but becomes real when seen as the Self. The realized is therefore not a person but is the Self. Like any character in the dream at the moment of awakening, it ceases to exist as a "dream individual" and awakens as the dreamer. The simile is imperfect… as mentioned above…. Realization therefore is nothing other than awakening to one's true nature, having always been that Self ...

Ecologia profonda universale. - Universal Deep Ecology. The theory of universes that bounce to infinity...

In continuo evolversi in continua trasformazione.

(Fonte: Il Messaggero)

Testo inglese:

Science begins to get closer and closer to philosophy. In fact, metaphysical thinking and the analysis of the physical world are two descriptions that collide, both of which draw on perceivable reality through consciousness.

That universes were continually created and destroyed one after the other in an infinite sequence is the conclusion of Vedic and Upanishadic thought, as well as Taoist thought. Everything flows (panta rei) everything changes everything melts everything takes shape again. Continuously evolving in continuous transformation.

As if to say that the primordial substance is the same while the manifest aspects are different. To understand this truth analogically it will be enough to observe the metamorphosis of life on this earth.

No two snow crystals are alike, no two leaves of the same tree are alike, in an expanse of sand every grain is different, in humanity every man is unique and unrepeatable, even through cloning it has been found that there are differences between the original model and the copy ....

In short, life is totally varied ... This variety is the dominant feature ... which at the same time evokes the underlying unity .... As happens in the observation of the figures forming in a kaleidoscope, the mirrors and the crystals are the same but the images always appear different.

Thus aeon after aeon universe after universe big bang after big bang life continues to manifest itself in a polychromy of colors, of immeasurably different shapes but drawing on the same matrix: consciousness. The awareness of the One that becomes many.

This was also the vision of our lay philosopher and spiritualist Giordano Bruno. He had intuited the true essence, the universal source, and the possibility of continually recreated and parallel universes. The eternally manifest and inextricably linked firework of Spirit and Matter. That his intuition had not been accepted by his contemporaries, and indeed caused him an atrocious death, from the point of view of abstract thought and the reality of things is of little importance ... And furthermore, in the dualistic perception, intelligence has need for stupidity to be evident.

What is true is always true and does not need confirmation ... it is self-existent. As each of us can find in his own identity and sense of being that it does not need to be corroborated by external agents .. on the contrary, external agents are corroborated in their presence and existence by the "noumenon", by the subject!

The truth cannot be told as the story is not the substance.

And now here's another side of the coin, that of the scientistic view: Martin Bojowald worked for six years around the complicated equations that underpin his theory. Today he was finally able to come out in Physics Nature to say that the universe was not born with the Big Bang. When the "big bang" occurred, which is traditionally traced back to the creation of the world we know, the universe already existed. Indeed, the Big Bang was nothing more than a "folding", a "rebound" of the pre-existing matter.

One of the limitations of the Big Bang theory, described mathematically by Einstein, is that at any given moment all matter was concentrated in one point with zero volume and infinite mass and energy. According to the laws of physics, impossible. Now scientists at Pennsylvania State University, led by Bojowald, say that before the birth of our universe there was a similar one but it collapsed on itself. By combining the theory of relativity with equations of quantum physics, the first model was born at Penn State that systematically describes the existence of a universe pre-existing to ours, and which calculates some of its characteristics.

According to the model (Loop Quantum Gravity, or Lqg), the old universe was collapsing rapidly, until it reached a state where gravity and energy were so high (but not infinite, as claimed by previous theories) that mutual repulsion reversed the process and gave birth to the expanding universe we know today. For American physicists, although very similar to each other, the "pre" and "post" rebound universes were not the same: the equations that govern them have at least one different variable, which Bojowald calls the "cosmic forgetfulness factor". That is, the absence of at least one parameter of the "pre" universe in the "post" universe. Which also prevents the infinite replication of twin universes.

"Believe obey fight!?" Dedicated to those who can read ... - "Credere, obbedire, combattere!?" Dedicato a chi sa leggere...

"The great Way is quite flat, yet people prefer the sideways" (Tao Te Ching)

It is said that the path of self-knowledge requires great sacrifice and great courage. The first thing we must give up in order to know ourselves is the acceptance of empirical knowledge. This empirical knowledge is not only the image we have of ourselves, it is also the known through faiths, science, religions, philosophies ... in short, everything we accept because it is part of culture and of our "believing" .

Being oneself requires abandoning preconceived ideas and giving up the comfort of feeling accepted by others, and even refusing to revolt and self-affirmation. We do not rebel against the world or against current thinking, but neither do we take them for real, as they appear to us or as they are described to us. The world is there and we, as observers, are there. But why should we conform to a "description"? To a judgment?

After all, self-knowledge is something very simple that does not require explanations or justifications and in truth it does not even require sacrifice or courage. He asks for nothing ...

But perhaps one thing is necessary self-awareness, otherwise one can stumble upon the "necessity" of believing, thus renouncing the "freedom" of not believing.

It has happened that several philosophers who declared themselves secular or even atheists in life have converted to the point of death, it happens when the fear of dying takes over. Philosopher or street man are equal in front of the extreme foe (or true friend, as Totò called her in "La Livella")

Someone objected: "... I am of the idea that the philosopher is better armed to fight the homologation that De Curtis feared!". But how can one be armed or resist the inevitable? Either we accept death as an aspect of life and then we welcome her as a lover, as a birth, or we fear the judgment of God and philosophy is of little use, indeed it is a burden, greater than the blissful ignorance of the illiterate.

"People would do anything, however absurd, to avoid facing their conscience: practice yoga, observe diets, learn theosophy by heart, mechanically repeat mystical texts from world literature. All because they don't know how to be with themselves, and they don't believe in the slightest that they can get anything useful out of their conscience. " (C.G. Jung)

Testo italiano:

(C.G. Jung)
